EXPERTS AT YOUR REQUEST
At OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, our outpatient nutrition education program gives you the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a registered dietitian to discuss your nutrition concerns.
Through nutrition counseling, you will learn how to eat, shop and prepare foods which will help you:
- Lower your cholesterol level
- Control your blood pressure
- Lose or gain weight
- Eat well with food intolerances or allergies
- Increase whole grains or protein in your diet
- Maintain a healthy diet while being physically active
At your initial visit, you will be asked many questions about your current diet, health and nutrition goals to assess your nutritional health and to help you develop a plan to achieve your goals. A follow-up visit may be needed to provide additional information and to assess your progress, while news goals may have to be set to help you reach your desired outcome. Each session lasts from 30 to 60 minutes. Family members are invited and encouraged to come with you.
Nutrition counseling is available for:
All ages, infant through seniors
Sports nutrition
Healthy eating while pregnant or lactating
Vegetarian or other special diets
Blood sugar control
