Director's Letter
Letter from the Director
As a grade school student, I always had some anxiety around “report card” time. I was a good enough student, but I always feared that something unexpected would find its way into the report. My view changed when I started to receive my own child’s report cards. I was still a little anxious, but mostly happy to see that my clearly above average child was applying her talent.
It is now report card time for the Foundation for fiscal year 2011.
You may remember that our goal for the year was to provide funding for 22 projects at OSF that would support our service to patients. The total cost for these projects was a little less than $1,000,000. These projects were selected because they would touch every patient we serve in some way.
Our campaign started by asking employees to join the effort. Their generous response formed the base from which we expanded our efforts. We were blessed with gifts from individuals, businesses and foundations. Adding to our efforts were proceeds from our golf invitational and our annual gala, Pink Ball. Each component built on the last as we moved toward our ultimate goal.
I am happy to report that we made the honor roll. All projects were funded thanks to faithful support from so many.
Each year I am so impressed with the care and love shown by our faithful supporters. Each has learned the lesson of compassion and caring and shows it again and again on behalf of those we serve.
Thank you for being "straight-A" students.
